Senior Editor

Responsibilities:

Review and edit educational manuscripts, textbooks, workbooks, teachers’ guides and other learning materials.  Edit content for grammar, spelling, punctuation, clarity, accuracy, consistency and appropriate style. Ensure content is suitable for the intended age group, class level and learning objectives. Fact-check information, references, statistics, examples and citations. Review manuscripts for structure, sequence, readability and instructional effectiveness.  Work with authors and content developers to improve manuscripts and resolve editorial issues. Provide constructive editorial feedback and guide writers through revisions. Develop and maintain editorial standards and style guidelines.  Coordinate manuscript reviews and monitor editorial workflows.  Work closely with designers and production teams during typesetting and page layout.  Review proofs and final page layouts and ensure corrections are properly effected before printing. Maintain high editorial and quality-control standards across publications.  Track editorial schedules and ensure that projects meet production deadlines. Maintain accurate records of manuscripts, revisions and editorial decisions.  Participate in editorial planning, meetings and publication development projects.

Requirements:

A minimum of a degree in a related field. A minimum of 5 years of experience.
