Infrastructure & Systems Engineer

We are seeking an experienced senior infrastructure & systems engineer to support and manage enterprise infrastructure, application platforms, system upgrades, migrations, production support, and disaster recovery activities. The role will work closely with infrastructure, database, application, and business teams to ensure the availability, stability, security, and performance of critical technology environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, install, configure, upgrade, and maintain enterprise infrastructure systems across Linux/Unix and Windows environments.
• Manage the complete infrastructure lifecycle, including server builds, software installations, deployments, upgrades, patching, and post-implementation support.
• Perform system health checks, performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis for infrastructure and application-related issues.
• Support Oracle database upgrades, application platform upgrades, and infrastructure migration activities.
• Administer and support Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) environments across development, testing, and production environments.
• Perform backup, restoration, recovery, and disaster recovery activities and participate in regular DR testing.
• Work with DBA, Wintel, backup, network, application, and other technical teams to resolve production incidents and infrastructure issues.
• Support file-transfer solutions, scheduling tools, and enterprise production systems, including Control-M and Connect:Direct.
• Manage and coordinate IT service requests, incidents, problems, changes, and releases in accordance with ITIL processes.
• Investigate technical issues, identify system requirements, and implement appropriate solutions to improve system reliability and operational efficiency.
• Automate repetitive operational activities and identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Conduct technical testing and validation of infrastructure and application changes prior to production deployment.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, system procedures, recovery procedures, and infrastructure-related records.
• Liaise with business users and technical stakeholders to understand requirements and provide timely technical support.
• Coordinate infrastructure implementation and maintenance activities with internal teams, vendors, and service providers.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and other support resources.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, electronics engineering, engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in infrastructure engineering, systems administration, enterprise application support, or production support.
• Strong hands-on experience with Linux/Unix and Windows environments .
• Experience in server installation, configuration, patching, migration, upgrade, and troubleshooting.
• Experience supporting enterprise applications and production environments.
• Experience with Oracle databases , including database upgrade and migration activities.
• Hands-on experience with OBIEE installation, configuration, administration, and production support will be advantageous.
• Experience in disaster recovery, backup, and restoration activities.
• Knowledge of ITIL-based Incident, Problem, Change, and Release Management processes.
• Experience with enterprise scheduling and file-transfer technologies such as Control-M and Connect:Direct .
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional infrastructure, application, database, and business teams.
• ITIL Foundation certification will be an advantage.
