LE8, Leicester £30,000 - £35,000 Permanent | Full Time | Office Based

Macildowie are working with this client based in Leicester to recruit a Customer Service Team Leader into their growing automotive services business.

This is a newly created role and a great opportunity for an experienced customer service professional who is ready to take ownership of a small team while remaining hands-on with customers day to day.

You'll be managing a team of two within a busy customer-facing environment, helping to ensure customers receive a consistently high standard of service from their first interaction through to resolution.

The Role

As Customer Service Team Leader, you'll take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the customer service function while remaining actively involved in the operation.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing, supporting and developing a team of two
  • Handling customer complaints and more complex queries
  • Ensuring customers receive a professional and responsive service
  • Supporting the reception function and acting as a key point of contact for customers
  • Monitoring workloads and helping the team prioritise effectively
  • Leading by example and getting involved when the team is busy
  • Identifying opportunities to improve customer service processes
  • Supporting the business as it continues to grow

What We're Looking For

We're looking for somebody who enjoys being close to the operation rather than managing from a distance.

You'll ideally have:

  • Previous experience within customer service, customer care or a similar customer-facing environment
  • Experience supervising, coaching or managing a small team
  • Confidence dealing with complaints and challenging customer conversations
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A practical, hands-on approach
  • The ability to stay organised and calm in a busy environment
  • A genuine interest in improving the customer experience

Experience within automotive, accident repair, vehicle services or another fast-paced service-led environment would be advantageous, although isn't essential.

What's On Offer?

  • Salary of £30,000 - £35,000
  • Permanent, full-time position
  • A newly created role with the opportunity to make it your own
  • Responsibility for a small team
  • The chance to join a growing business
  • A varied role combining customer service, leadership, complaints and reception responsibilities
  • Fully office-based position in LE8, Leicester

If you're an experienced customer service professional looking for your next step into a hands-on leadership position, we'd love to hear from you.
