Financial Systems Engineer
Accountabilities Own and administer core financial systems, including configuration, workflows, user access, business logic, and ongoing system health across platforms such as NetSuite and related financial tools.
Identify and eliminate manual, repetitive, or error-prone finance processes by designing automation solutions and partnering with engineering teams for scalable implementations.
Serve as the subject matter expert for financial systems data and business logic, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and alignment across finance operations.
Design and support cross-system integrations using centralized, version-controlled, and observable integration frameworks in collaboration with engineering teams.
Act as the dedicated technology partner for Finance and Accounting, translating business requirements into system capabilities and owning vendor onboarding and system configuration.
Optimize financial workflows such as month-end close, reconciliations, procure-to-pay, and reporting through automation and system enhancements.
Leverage modern automation and AI tools to accelerate system configuration, reporting, and operational improvements.
Ensure financial systems are scalable, reliable, and aligned with organizational growth and evolving business needs.
Requirements
3–6 years of experience administering financial systems or ERP platforms, with strong hands-on NetSuite administration experience.
Deep knowledge of NetSuite configuration, including user roles, permissions, workflows, custom records, fields, SuiteFlow automation, and system customization.
Strong understanding of core finance and accounting processes, including month-end close, accounts payable, reconciliation, revenue recognition, and procurement workflows.
Experience building or supporting system integrations, with familiarity in APIs, scripting, SQL, or automation tools.
Strong ability to identify inefficiencies and implement automation solutions using scripting, workflow tools, or low-code/iPaaS platforms.
Ability to determine appropriate system boundaries, including where business logic should reside and how systems interact within a broader architecture.
Experience collaborating across Finance and Engineering teams, with strong communication skills to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Familiarity with SuiteScript, RESTlets, or NetSuite web services is highly desirable.
Experience with financial tools such as FloQast or Ramp is a plus.
Comfortable working in an environment that leverages AI tools and modern automation technologies.
