Projectionist

Responsibilities:

Operate and monitor digital cinema projection and audiovisual systems.

Conduct pre-screening checks to ensure projectors, servers, sound systems, screens, and related equipment are functioning properly

Monitor picture quality, sound, brightness, focus, and overall presentation throughout screenings.

Identify and troubleshoot technical issues promptly to minimise disruption to guests.

Perform routine checks and basic maintenance of projection and sound equipment.

Maintain accurate records of equipment faults, technical issues, screenings, and maintenance activities.

Report major technical faults and maintenance requirements to the appropriate supervisor or technical team.

Liaise with technical vendors and service providers when specialised repairs are required.

Ensure the projection room and equipment are clean, organised, secure, and properly maintained.

Follow all technical operating procedures, HSE requirements, and safety standards.

Support technical requirements for VIP screenings, premieres, private events, and special presentations.

Ensure backup procedures are followed to minimise interruptions to scheduled screenings.

Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

Requirements:

OND, HND, or B.Sc. in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Physics, or a related technical field.

1–3 years of experience in cinema projection, audiovisual operations, broadcast, entertainment technology, or a similar technical role.

Experience operating digital cinema projection systems is highly desirable.

Basic knowledge of digital cinema servers, projectors, sound systems, and audiovisual equipment.

Ability to troubleshoot basic technical and equipment-related issues.

Good understanding of computer systems and technical software.

Strong attention to detail and ability to monitor equipment effectively.

Ability to work independently and respond quickly to technical issues.

Good communication and teamwork skills.

Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

High level of reliability, discipline, and commitment to maintaining technical standards.

Professional attitude and ability to work within a luxury cinema environment.
