Junior IT Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Ras El Hekma, Egypt Join DTEC as a Junior IT Infrastructure Engineer and be part of a growing team delivering large-scale ICT and ELV infrastructure projects. In this role, you will support the execution of infrastructure projects, coordinate with clients and project teams, and ensure high-quality delivery in accordance with project specifications and standards. Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 1–5 years of experience in ICT/ELV infrastructure projects.
- Basic knowledge of structured cabling standards (TIA/EIA, ISO/IEC).
- Familiarity with fiber optic and copper cabling installation practices.
- Understanding of network racks, patch panels, and cable management.
- Experience with Fluke testing or OTDR is an advantage.
- Ability to read technical drawings and network layouts.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Supervise the installation activities carried out by site technicians and subcontractors.
- Study and interpret project drawings, specifications, and approved shop drawings.
- Coordinate daily with the Client, Consultant, and internal project team to ensure smooth project execution.
- Plan, organize, and monitor site activities to ensure timely completion of project milestones.
- Track project progress and identify potential delays, proposing corrective actions where required.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
- Prepare Inspection Requests (IRs), Material Inspection Requests (MIRs), and other project documentation.
- Prepare Interim Payment Applications (IPAs) based on completed site works.
- Coordinate material requirements with the procurement team and monitor material availability.
- Attend coordination and technical meetings with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders.
- Follow up on technical clarifications, RFIs, approvals, and consultant comments.
- Maintain project documentation, including progress records, testing reports, as-built documentation, and site correspondence.
- Escalate project risks, technical issues, and commercial concerns to the Project Manager and COO while providing recommendations for resolution.
- Ensure compliance with project quality standards, HSE requirements, and contractual obligations.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and HSE requirements.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in Data Centers or Enterprise Network Infrastructure.
- Knowledge of structured cabling systems from manufacturers such as CommScope, Panduit, Leviton, or equivalent.
- Basic understanding of network switches and LAN infrastructure.
- Willingness to work on-site and travel to project locations.
