Asopo is the software company that grew out of Bboxx. For ten years the Bboxx group ran its own PAYGO, asset-finance and customer platform in-house, across solar, LPG cooking and electric motorcycles in a dozen African markets. Pulse is that platform, now offered to other companies: distributors, MFIs, banks and OEMs who finance small assets and need to collect on them. We have paying customers in East Africa and the Indian Ocean, a delivery team that ships integrations with mobile money and core banking systems, and a pipeline that currently outruns the people we have to work it.

That is the job. We need one person to own commercial relationships for Pulse end to end: find the next customers, get them live, keep them, and grow the account.

What you will actually do

Run the pipeline. Qualify inbound, prospect outbound, and take a deal from first call to signed platform agreement. Most buyers are a head of credit, a head of operations or a founder, so you will be selling to people who will check your numbers. Closely work and collaborate with Marketing on planning Events, Developing Sales Enablement Assets, Market Positioning, and Campaigns. Own the accounts you sign. Onboarding, renewals, fee negotiations, the hard conversations when a customer's default rate rises and they want to know what the platform can do about it. Price the work. Platform fees, per-account fees, implementation fees. You will build the quote, defend it, and know when to walk. Scope with the delivery team. Sit with our software leads, turn a customer's request into a feature that can be built and priced, and tell the customer honestly what is in the roadmap and what is not. Work in two languages. A real share of our customers and prospects are in DRC, Madagascar, Togo and francophone West Africa, and one of our largest partners drafts contracts in French. You will negotiate in French, not just say hello in it.

Who this suits

You are probably in a customer success, account management or sales role at a software company that sells to lenders or distributors in Africa. You may have started in a bank's credit operations or in a PAYGO company's field team before moving to the software side. You have sat in a room with an MFI's credit committee and a distributor's field manager in the same week and were useful in both. You have handled at least one renewal that nearly did not happen.

We are less interested in years and titles than in specifics. If you can tell us about a customer you closed, a price you held, and a feature you talked a customer out of, we want to hear it. If you have a non-AI generated vision as to how to grow a business and close prospects, then you tick a lot of the boxes.

The Cold Reality

The team is small and the product is still being defined. You will not have a sales operations function behind you. This is a mid-senior band role. Compensation is disclosed on the first call, not at offer stage. The path to Head of Commercial is written into the offer and tied to revenue. It is real, and it is earned.

How to apply
