The Youth Mentor will assist in executing the Shared Services Mentorship Program in Moose Jaw, SK. This program is offered in various elementary schools around Moose Jaw & at a YMCA program site. This position requires you to build relationships with male youth, act as a positive role model & facilitate meaningful workshops to Youth Mentorship groups throughout the week to students in grades 1-12. This position works 25hrs/week & some evening work may be required. Responsibilities:Implement programming in a school & small group setting. Creating & facilitating interactive workshops for a small group of male youth ages 6-15. Building relationships & providing mentorship to male youth referred to YMCA Mentorship ProgramComply with all YMCA Child Protection Policy & Procedures & complete all Child Protection Training as required.Communicating program success & activities to program participants, their family & through the Y network. Requirements:Ability to build relationships & work with male youth is an asset, especially those with challenging behavioursSelf-motivated & be able to work independently as well as part of a small team.Experience & interest working with male youth & lessons/program planningDemonstrate the ability to be a positive role model, mentor & authentic leaderGood communication skills & interpersonal skills.Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check prior to first day of work & dated no more than 3 months before hire dateUpdated CPR & First Aid upon start date.Valid driving licence.
