Essential Functions Research, develop, and design mechanical and electromechanical and/or pneumatic prototypes, systems and subsystems for capital equipment (involving stepper or servo motors, pneumatic pumps, valves, etc…)

Perform GD&T analysis of designs at the system and subsystem level

Conduct system level integration and validation of designs (testing and troubleshooting)

Plan and perform tests to analyze the feasibility, design, operation and performance of equipment, components and systems

Continuous improvement related to enhancing system performance, reliability and manufacturability

Drive full documentation of design including BOM, drawings and procedures

Oversee and coordinate activities involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of mechanical or electromechanical products and systems.

Manage small to mid-sized projects from concept to production.

Collaborate in a team environment working with Hardware, Software and Process.

Participates in team and other assigned meetings

Qualifications Required:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in mechanical engineering or a related field or higher

8+ years of experience in Mechanical Systems Design and Development

5+ years of CAD experience (Solidworks prefered) Solidworks PDM, Solidworks Electrical

8+ years’ experience designing manufacturing systems for semiconductor, machining, automation, materials processing, or other related industrial capital equipment applications (Additive Manufacturing, Semiconductor, Solar, Robotics, CNC, or Biomedical Manufacturing Equipment Design Engineering experience)

Experience in GD&T and quality detail drawing documentation.

Thermal Analysis, FEA, CFD, and simulation software.

Systems level thinker with experience working on complex mechanical systems

High level of commitment to contribute to a positive, high-paced and results-oriented work environment

Willing and able to work “Hands-on” to build, integrate and test newly developed systems and/or subsystems

Self-driven and independent thinking. Ability to work independently.

Strong desire to work for a company on disruptive technologies and make it a success.

Strong written and oral communication skills.

Desired:

Metal additive manufacturing experience a plus but not required

Experience with risk analysis methods such as FMEA
