Education:
College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. or equivalent experience.
Work site environment:
Outdoors. Tree and orchard fruit.
Tasks:
- Train trees to produce more fruit of higher quality.
- Weeding.
- Maintain farm machinery, equipment and buildings.
- Manage overall operation of farm.
- Perform general farm duties.
- Maintain quality control and production records.
- Co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers.
- Provide agricultural crop services such as plowing, irrigating, cultivating, spraying or harvesting.
- Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures.
- Supervise and oversee growing and other crop-related operations.
- Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed.
- Tie and secure plants.
- Organize tasks to accomplish the work.
