Senior Controller

Your Responsibilities as a Senior Controller

  • Act as a Finance Business Partner for a business area/business unit, legal entity or group function.
  • Lead or support controlling and financial reporting processes for the entity/function within your area of responsibility.
  • Be responsible for the effective and accurate period-end closing, analysis and reporting activities of the entity/function.
  • Contribute to and support the implementation and management of an efficient and accurate forecasting and budgeting process within the entity/function.
  • Represent the entity/function in queries related to other Finance Operations processes, including Record to Report (RtR), Purchase to Pay (PtP) and Order to Cash (OtC).
  • Ensure the implementation and compliance with Stora Enso’s financial processes and policies within the entity/function.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement, make recommendations and lead changes to continuously improve and harmonise end-to-end controlling processes.
  • Lead and support process automation and other development projects.
  • Ensure close collaboration and effective information flow between the entity/function, the Finance department and key stakeholders across other functions.
  • Support and train stakeholders on controlling-related topics.

What We Expect from You

  • A Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in controlling, management reporting or accounting.
  • A good understanding of controlling processes, including period-end closing, operational financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and management reporting.
  • Good knowledge of controlling tools and analytics platforms, such as Excel, SAP, OneStream and Power BI.
  • Experience in leading process improvement and harmonisation initiatives.
  • A change-oriented mindset – you are willing to improve processes, develop new ways of working and promote standardisation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to detail and quality.
  • The ability to work in a matrix organisation and in an international environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence others and explain complex financial information to people who are not finance specialists.
  • Very good command of English, both spoken and written.
