Senior Golang developer

ABOUT THE ROLE

In this role, you will join SoftServe as a Senior Go Engineer, working with a global retail services client operating across multiple countries. You will contribute to building a secure, EU-based PaaS cloud platform focused on security, privacy, and regulatory compliance. As part of a cross-functional European team, you will help design and deliver scalable backend and middleware solutions within a modern, cloud-native ecosystem.

Daily tasks

• Design and develop scalable microservices using Go
• Build and optimize backend services with a focus on performance, reliability, and scalability
• Take ownership of operational and SRE-related activities, including incident support and system reliability
• Work with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) for data processing and storage
• Ensure secure development practices aligned with the platform and compliance requirements
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver new features and resolve dependencies
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance, stability, and security issues
• Participate in testing activities, including unit, integration, and manual testing, as well as code reviews
• Support and enhance CI/CD processes and contribute to automation efforts
• Continuously improve and optimize existing solutions
• Actively participate in Agile ceremonies (planning, refinement, review, retrospective)

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS

• Extensive experience (5+ years) in software development, with strong expertise in Go
• Hands-on experience with microservices architecture
• Experience working with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL
• Strong skills in coding, testing, debugging, and system integration
• Understanding of secure software development principles
• Experience with containerization and cloud technologies ( Docker , Kubernetes , VMs, CloudFoundry)
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Ansible) is a plus
• Experience with observability tools such as Grafana and Prometheus
• Ability to work independently in an Agile environment
• Strong problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis
• Experience providing technical leadership and supporting complex systems
• Confident communication skills in English, both written and verbal, in a multicultural and distributed setup
