What You'll Do

Litigation Leadership

Lead and mentor a team of Staff Counsel, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback

Partner with Claims leadership to align litigation strategy, case evaluation, and settlement practices

Serve as the primary escalation point for complex and high-exposure matters

Portfolio Oversight

Monitor litigation performance, exposure trends, and case progression across the team's portfolio

Conduct file reviews and provide strategic direction on discovery, mediation, and trial readiness

Coordinate with Trial Counsel to ensure matters are appropriately prepared for trial

Collaboration & Risk Management

Provide timely legal guidance and recommendations to Claims and business partners

Identify litigation risks and recommend strategies to support favorable outcomes

Promote compliance with court requirements, ethical obligations, and company litigation standards

What You Bring

Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school and active Florida Bar membership in good standing

8+ years of litigation experience, including significant insurance litigation and 5+ years handling Florida first-party property claims

2+ years of leadership experience with a proven track record of mentoring and developing attorneys

Strong knowledge of Florida insurance law, civil procedure, evidence rules, and professional responsibility standards

Demonstrated ability to manage complex litigation, evaluate risk, negotiate effectively, and guide legal strategy

Trial experience, including jury trial participation; second-chair trial experience preferred

Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills

Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications
