Finance & Accounts Officer
Responsibilities:
Manage payroll and statutory deductions, working with HR to resolve changes and queries. Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoices, payments, collections, vendor reconciliations, and ageing. Perform bank, cash, payroll, and balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies. Support month-end close and prepare routine financial and management reports. Track operating and campus expenses and support cash-flow monitoring. Manage applicable PAYE, VAT, WHT, pension, and other statutory filings and remittances. Maintain accurate accounting records, financial controls, approvals, and supporting documentation. Support audit preparation and finance activities across the Abuja and Enugu operations.
Requirements:
Minimum of an HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 3+ years of relevant accounting or finance experience. Hands-on experience with payroll, AP/AR, reconciliations, expense management, and financial reporting. Experience supporting month-end close and preparing financial or management reports. Good working knowledge of IFRS and Nigerian tax, payroll, and statutory requirements. Strong Microsoft Excel skills. High integrity, confidentiality, attention to detail, and ability to work independently. Good analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Requirements:
ICAN (ACA), ACCA, ANAN, or progress toward a professional accounting qualification. Experience with QuickBooks, Sage, or similar accounting software. Multi-location or multi-entity finance experience. Audit or internal controls experience. Experience with ERP, HR, payroll, or financial management systems. Experience supporting business requirements, UAT/testing, data validation, or finance systems implementation.
