About the company

SafeReceipts is a scrappy Ghanaian startup building a simpler, more reliable way for retailers and their customers to manage digital receipts, returns, and post-purchase experiences.

Paper receipts get lost. WhatsApp screenshots aren’t proof. “No refund” stickers create fights. We’re building a lightweight digital receipt system that helps retailers keep better transaction records and makes post-purchase experiences easier for everyone.

We’re preparing to launch with real retailers, testing in the market, learning fast, and improving the product based on customer feedback. We’re looking for someone who wants to help us turn an early-stage product into something people actually use.

Your tasks

We’re looking for a resourceful, hands-on Growth & Retailer Engagement Associate to help drive SafeReceipts’ soft launch and product validation efforts.

This isn’t a traditional social media role. You’ll work directly with the founding team to introduce SafeReceipts to retailers, create content that communicates its value, support marketing experiments, and turn interest into active product usage.

  • Retailer Outreach: Identify prospective retailers, initiate conversations, introduce SafeReceipts, and follow up with interested businesses.
  • Customer Acquisition: Help organise product demos, onboard early adopters, and get retailers to issue their first digital receipts.
  • Social Media: Create and publish engaging content across our existing social media channels, including product demonstrations, educational posts, and launch updates.
  • Growth Experiments: Support paid advertising campaigns, test messaging and audiences, and help identify cost-effective ways to reach prospective retailers.
  • Customer Discovery: Gather feedback from retailers and customers, document objections, and identify what helps or prevents adoption.
  • Community Engagement: Respond to enquiries, engage with relevant online communities and direct interested prospects toward trying SafeReceipts.
  • Tracking & Reporting: Maintain a simple prospect tracker and provide weekly updates on outreach, demos, activations, content performance and lessons learned.

Requirements

The role is ideal for a final-year university student, recent graduate, or early-career professional interested in startups, marketing, sales, customer success, or business development.

Who We're Looking For

  • Someone proactive who can take ownership of tasks without needing constant supervision.
  • A confident communicator who is comfortable approaching unfamiliar people, starting conversations and following up.
  • Someone interested in digital marketing, customer engagement, sales or early-stage startups.
  • A practical content creator who can explain a product clearly and produce engaging social media posts.
  • Someone organised enough to manage prospects, track results and meet agreed deadlines.
  • A resourceful problem-solver who can work with a tight budget and adapt when things don’t go as planned.
  • Someone comfortable experimenting, learning from rejection and using feedback to improve their approach.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience managing social media accounts or creating content for a business, organisation or personal brand.
  • Experience with Canva, Meta Business Suite or basic video editing tools.
  • Familiarity with paid social advertising and campaign performance metrics.
  • Experience in sales, customer support, community management or business development.
  • An existing network of retailers, small businesses or entrepreneurs in Ghana.
  • Experience using spreadsheets, CRM tools or simple analytics dashboards.
