Freelance Quality Assurance (QA)

Job Description

• Review business requirements and acceptance criteria to ensure testability.
• Create test plans, test cases, test scenarios, and prepare test data requirements.
• Execute functional, regression, smoke, sanity, exploratory, and user acceptance testing (UAT) support.
• Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects until resolution, including retesting and verification.
• Perform API and integration testing to validate system functionality, data flow, and error handling.
• Conduct non-functional testing, including cross-browser, cross-device, usability, accessibility, basic security, and performance testing.
• Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts, and support test automation within CI/CD pipelines.
• Verify production deployments, perform post-release validation, and prepare release test summary reports.
• Maintain testing documentation, traceability matrices, and test metrics while contributing to continuous process improvement..
• Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and other stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance, including manual testing. Experience as a Freelance QA is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, software testing methodologies, and defect management processes.
• Proven experience in creating test plans, test cases, test scenarios, and test documentation.
• Hands-on experience in functional, regression, smoke, sanity, exploratory, integration, and UAT testing.
• Familiarity with defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail, or similar platforms.
• Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, Swagger, or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of SQL and database validation is preferred.
• Experience with automation testing tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar is a plus.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile/Scrum development methodologies is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Available to work on a freelance/contract basis and able to deliver tasks according to project timelines.
