Responsibilities
- Responsible in leading the technical coordination and design management aspects of construction projects.
- Lead and manage a team of Design/Coordination Engineers in coordinating design drawings with consultants, ensuring compliance with authority regulations and project specifications.
- Act as the key liaison between consultants, clients, contractors, and authorities on all design-related matters.
- Guide the team in preparing technical submissions, including shop drawings, material approvals, and method statements for construction.
- Coordinate and monitor submission processes to local authorities to ensure compliance and timely approvals.
- Lead the resolution of design and technical issues encountered during construction by liaising with Architectural and M&E teams, consultants, and relevant authorities.
- Review and address technical queries by raising Requests for Approval (RFA) and Requests for Information (RFI) to the relevant parties for design clarification.
- Initiate and evaluate value engineering proposals to enhance project delivery in terms of cost-effectiveness, safety, constructability, and quality.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Relevant experience in building construction for commercial, industrial, mixed development or high rise private residential projects, preferably with A1 main contractors.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in a construction or engineering consultancy environment.
- Strong knowledge of local building codes, authority regulations, and construction methodologies.
