As a Mechanical QA/QC Lead working with the LotusWorks team, you will join our client site in the Data center sector. This job is based in a cutting-edge facility just outside Hickory, North Carolina. In this position, you will be responsible for the coordination, compilation and review of compiled quality and commissioning related records of installed Mechanical equipment and systems for the client utilizing team resources.

Responsibilities:

Perform L2 installation verification and QA/QC inspections of mechanical systems and equipment.

Support L3 startup and initial equipment commissioning activities alongside vendors, contractors, and commissioning teams.

Inspect mechanical systems and equipment, including chillers, cooling towers, pumps, air handling units, CRAH/CRAC units, heat exchangers, piping systems, valves, and associated controls.

Verify equipment and piping installations against approved drawings, specifications, submittals, manufacturer requirements, and project standards.

Perform visual and physical inspections to confirm equipment is properly installed, supported, labeled, connected, and ready for startup.

Review mechanical drawings, P&IDs, equipment layouts, specifications, and construction documentation to support field inspections.

Verify piping installation, supports, valves, equipment connections, insulation, labeling, and system configuration.

Complete commissioning and QA/QC checklists, inspection reports, punch lists, and equipment readiness documentation.

Identify installation deficiencies and work with contractors and project teams to track issues through resolution.

Verify completion of required pre-startup and startup documentation.

Support vendor startup activities and confirm equipment startup requirements have been completed and documented.

Assist with mechanical testing activities such as pressure testing, flushing, leak testing, equipment rotation checks, and other equipment-specific testing.

Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, deficiencies, corrective actions, and equipment status.

Support turnover of completed systems from construction through commissioning and operations.

Follow project safety requirements, including LOTO, PPE, and procedures for working around operating mechanical equipment and pressurized systems.

Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned to you in your role.

Skills Required:

Experience supporting mission-critical environments such as data centers, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, advanced manufacturing, or similar industries.

Prior experience in conducting quality inspections to identify and document issues not meeting project specifications and contract documents.

Prior experience and skilled in conducting meetings with project stakeholders using relevant data and clear communication.

Prior experience in writing weekly reports and executing data driven decisions.

Ability to interpret project design drawings and specifications relating to a range of mechanical systems supporting advanced manufacturing.

Experience in documenting and reporting inspection results and proficient with Office 365 products.

Education / Licenses / Certifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical trade qualification.
