Loan Officer

Role Description: This is a full-time, on-site Loan Officer role with Lecole Finance Ltd, with deployment to any of our branches across Uganda. The successful candidate must be willing and able to relocate and work at any assigned branch.
The Loan Officer will evaluate loan applications, assess creditworthiness, and recommend appropriate loan products in line with company policies and risk guidelines. Daily responsibilities include meeting with prospective and existing clients, explaining loan terms, collecting and verifying documentation, and guiding clients through the loan origination process.
The role also involves conducting financial and credit analysis, supporting underwriting decisions, monitoring loan performance, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date records. The Loan Officer will provide responsive customer service, address client inquiries and concerns, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely loan processing and a positive client experience.
Mobility Requirement: Applicants must be willing to work and relocate to any Lecole Finance Ltd branch in Uganda as may be required by the company.
Qualifications
Experience in Loan Officer roles and loan origination, with a strong understanding of lending processes and documentation. Knowledge of finance principles and basic financial analysis to assess client eligibility and loan risk. Familiarity with underwriting practices and credit assessment to support sound lending decisions. Strong customer service skills, including the ability to communicate clearly, build rapport, and manage client expectations. Attention to detail, accuracy in data entry, and ability to work with loan management or finance-related software. Good organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple applications and deadlines. Ethical judgment, reliability, and commitment to compliance with regulatory and company lending standards. Diploma or degree in Finance, Banking, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field is preferred. Prior experience in a microfinance, banking, or financial institution environment is an added advantage.
