KBR is looking for a senior engineer, electrical maintenance with onshore site project experience in MEGA EPC projects to be based in Abu Dhabi for a PMC project.

Job purpose

Provide site level maintenance technical support. Coordinate on technical issues within site and with relevant support functions in the office. Provide relevant input to reflect operational feedback into new projects and field development.

Key accountabilities

Job specific accountabilities

Ensure that all electrical maintenance work is carried out in accordance with professional standards to best serve achievement of production targets and plant/equipment integrity.

Lead site technical analysis, problem investigation, equipment/plant testing and follow up on performance and recording systems.

Participate in the preparation of electrical maintenance related procedures and safe job analysis (SJA’s) for major electrical activities.

Ensure that the electrical maintenance and equipment history files are correctly updated and completed for any changes or modifications. Submit regular task reports and specific technical reports as required.

Provide site technical experience feedback to project engineering and execution to ensure operational experience is captured in new projects.

Initiate electrical related facility modification requests and review engineering packages, technical proposals, and documents for modifications and projects submitted to site by functional departments for comments.

Participate in the preparation of the CC and ACPT electrical yearly budget estimate.

In coordination with concerned Zakum Services, initiate regular safety surveys and inspections and ensure corrective actions are taken to bring electrical equipment to required standards.

Ensure that adequate quality control checks are taken throughout the work processes to achieve long-term electrical equipment availability and facility integrity.

Generic accountabilities

Supervision: Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives. Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective section objectives.

Budgets: Provide input for preparation of the section/department budgets and assist in the implementation of the approved budget and work plans to deliver section objectives. Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.

Policies, systems, processes & procedures: Implement approved section/department policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures to support execution of the section’s/department work programs in line with company and international standards.

Performance management: Contribute to the achievement of the approved performance objectives for the section/department in line with the company performance framework.

Innovation and continuous improvement: Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes. Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with ISO standards to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.

Health, safety, environment (HSE) and sustainability: Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures and controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC code of practices.

Reports: Provide inputs to prepare section MIS and progress reports for company management.

Communications and working relationships

Internal: Regular contacts at same or next higher level within own department and at same level in other departments for coordination of maintenance activities. Regular contacts with concerned support teams in Abu Dhabi for follow up of works assigned to them. Regular contacts with buyers, materials engineers of CM department, Zirku workshop, stores, etc.

Qualifications, experience, knowledge and skills

Minimum qualification

Bachelor degree in electrical engineering or equivalent professional qualification.

Minimum experience, knowledge and skills

15 years of diversified experience in oil fields, including five years in a team leader position preferably in onshore fields.

Strong background in electrical engineering relating to electrical systems in oil and gas industry and maintenance engineering.

Very good command of English and computer skills.
