Our client is a leading OEM supplier of products and services for medical devices and procedures.
The primary purpose of this job is to develop and execute a strategic plan for the applicable commodity ensuring leveraged corporate spend, quality, on time delivery and supplier performance.
Responsibilities:
- Adheres to the company's Core Beliefs and all safety and quality requirements.
- Develops partnerships with strategic suppliers for applicable commodity(ies) to drive continuous improvement, optimized delivery, inventory reduction, new product development, etc.
- Assesses risk within the applicable commodity and implements strategies to mitigate risks.
- Works with Supply Chain Contracts team to ensure applicable commodities are covered contractually with favorable terms of service.
- Develops strategies to drive costs out of the supply chain working internally with Technical, Operations and Quality teams along with the suppliers.
- Investigates and recommends new and/or alternate sources of supply necessary to support business in the applicable commodity realm.
- Works with suppliers on strategies to optimize inventory throughout the entire supply chain.
- Leads the cross functional commodity team (engineering, supplier quality, quality, supply chain, operations) to determine business needs and drive the execution of the commodity strategic plan.
- Works closely with Finance to ensure that budgeting, standards, and PPV data is accurate for applicable strategic commodities.
- Performs other functions as required.
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Minimum Experience: 7 years of experience in procurement or related process-driven field. Specialized Knowledge: Specific commodity and industry expertise. Negotiating and procurement principles Special Skills: Advanced technical knowledge including various manufacturing processes and the ability to read and understand blueprints.
