What You Would Get To Do
In this capacity, the ideal candidate would represent the FIRST brand as an implanted team member for a well-known technology company. The Senior Event Technician will be responsible for leading the technical production for mid- to complex level events requiring support with Audio/Video, staging, lighting and design needs. The role requires strong technical understanding and practical experience operating event production systems, with extensive experience in A/V and technical direction for both corporate events and live experiential events.
For events, the goal is to provide a seamless technology experience to all attendees, press and partners, as well as create a more efficient and reliable technical environment for event staff and vendors. In this role you’ll work with internal teams as well as external clients and vendor partners on a daily basis.
Your Contributions
Ensure your event production studio is clean, operational, and ready for business daily
Responsible for the tech teams readiness on all events
Coordinate across teams to ensure all technical requests for events are executed as desired
Act as a technical lead on events as assigned
Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot and understand audio and video workflows throughout the facility
Serve as the subject matter expert on the technical capabilities of the studio to external agencies, production companies, and clients
Maintain detailed documentation on studio capabilities regarding LED wall specs, rigging, lighting, video, audio, etc
Ensure all external agencies and production companies are informed and adhere to all rules and regulations of the facility
Organise and maintain production switcher layouts and other auxiliary equipment associated with “show calling”
Explain complex technical systems to non technical clients and stakeholders as needed
Provide technical solutions and support to the wider team and assist in the hands-on delivery of all events
Identify new and alternative ways of approaching FIRST’s technical production offering to clients by collecting feedback, identifying trends and implementing changes
Ensure team adheres to standard operating procedures and compliance processes
Actively discuss technical errors and ensure that they will be rectified/escalated accordingly
Serve as the main point of contact for all production and technical related matters for your assigned event studio
Coordinate with engineering resources to ensure AV systems are properly maintained and optimised for events
Collaborate as needed with show callers, technical directors, or external agencies to ensure the flawless execution of technical cues
Operate audio, video, lighting, or camera equipment as needed to ensure the seamless delivery of events
Train and mentor technicians operating in your assigned event studio
Coordinate with cross functional teams to ensure the seamless execution of events in your assigned studio
Perform regularly scheduled system maintenance checks to ensure all audio equipment is working properly, in collaboration with the engineering team
Flex into operating other event production areas as skills and training allows
What We Are Looking For
5-7 years of relevant experience
Expert/in-depth understanding of audio visual technology and advancements including lighting, audio/video output, rigging and power
High proficiency with LED walls, Ventuz, and WATCHOUT
Experience working with the following equipment/tools is helpful but not required: Yamaha CL series desks; Final Cut ProX; Keynote; Google G-Suite; ETC Ion lighting desk; Crestron Control systems, ROSS Carbonite desks, Panasonic PTZ camera controllers, Dante Controller, Shure Wireless Workbench, PlaybackPro, and Clear-Com systems, Meyer Galileo, QSYS, media ingest servers, etc.
High level of proficiency in the technical delivery of high-quality events
Live video switching experience with strong technical understanding of systems
Live audio mixing experience with strong technical understanding of signal flow and processing
Experience operating large format event production systems
Excellent communication and customer service skills are a must to build and maintain relationships
Ability to prioritise while adhering to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment
Experience managing day-to-day changes at every level of detail
Ability to manage many projects at once with varying levels of production
Knowledge and ability to use PTZ cameras and controllers
Knowledge of Live Streaming in various encoding platforms
Ability to generate and provide technical metrics related to an event(s)
Ability to read building schematics and installation diagrams in order to troubleshoot
Understanding of TCP/IP networking
Understanding of different audio and video protocols and codecs
Must be fluent in English
Ability to work onsite
This role will be assigned to a primary location but will require flexibility to be deployed to support across the campus as required
