IT Security Specialist – F5 AWAF & Palo Alto Expert

IT SECURITY F5 AWAF Palo ALTO

Work mode: Hybrid (2 days on-site, 3 days remote)

We are currently seeking a seasoned IT Security Specialist with deep technical expertise in F5 AWAF and Palo Alto firewalls, ready to take on a high-impact role within a multidisciplinary team of internal and external experts within one of our main clients operating in the public sector in Brussels.

Your Responsibilities:

• Ensure consistent application of security policies and best practices.
• Regularly assess the technical health of systems and networks.
• Lead crisis interventions during cyberattacks, intrusions, or malware incidents.
• Define and test response scenarios for security incidents.
• Advise and implement secure connectivity solutions for internal, external, and internet access.
• Identify vulnerabilities across Windows, Linux, iOS, and Android environments and propose countermeasures.

Your Profile:

• 10+ years of proven experience with F5 technologies (BIG-IP F5, APM, ASM, AWAF, LTM, GTM, SSL VPN).
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewalls (Panorama knowledge is a plus).
• Strong expertise in networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, SSL, SNMP) and security fundamentals, including encryption algorithms (RSA, AES, DES) and wireless security (WPA/WPA2).
• Hands-on experience with security and monitoring tools (Splunk, Nessus, ELK) and familiarity with major platforms such as Windows Server, Azure, RedHat Enterprise Linux, and endpoint protection systems.
• Technical English is mandatory, and proficiency in Dutch or French is highly valued.
