Design Manager

Job Description & Requirements

Responsible for technical drawings of morecomplex/large projects or overseesa team of drafters.Ensures that technical drawings are prepared according to time schedule and conform to specificationsfor construction

• Supervises and monitors the progress of shop drawings by team members for approval submission;
• Ensures the understanding and compliance of drawings with standards and specifications;
• Ensures understanding of project scope and requirements that impact accuracy of shop drawings;
• Prepares shop drawings and necessary documentation submission to main contractors/architects, etc;
• Prepares and updates status of shop drawing submission list for each project;
• Highlights and discussesany discrepancies on items/materials with relevant parties;
• Assists subordinates in the preparation of shop drawing details;
• Co-ordinates and arranges structural and architectural inspections with consultants;
• Prepares shop drawing schedule and submission to consultants for approval;
• Attends site meetings, progress and design meetings to provide status updates and resolves design and other issues;
• Works closely with project team members, clients and vendors to ensure timely completion ofprojects;
• Monitors and coaches the performance of team members;
• Promote steam spirit and ensures good morale exists among team members;
