Job purpose

Prepares overall maintenance and shutdown plans, monitoring and controlling tools to ensure smooth execution of maintenance schemes, shutdowns, and activities by providing all the required support to individuals.

Key accountabilities

Job specific accountabilities

Collaborates with various stakeholders (Integrity, Production, Projects, Maintenance Support, etc.) for preparation of shutdown plans, short and long term work programs for major schemes, major maintenance, individual projects, and action plans in line with the company’s business plan.

Produces, develops, and updates the seven-year integrated activity plan including engineering and maintenance schemes, barge and boat plans, WHT campaign, major inspections, overhauls, and shutdowns plans.

Develops and maintains plans for maintenance barges.

Prepares and monitors the major maintenance budget and relevant phasing.

Develops worklist for WHT major maintenance and develops execution schedule for maintenance campaign.

Develops and updates the bedding plan in view of each scheme’s schedule by coordinating with each job officer.

Monitors deviations from work programs and reports to team leaders the possible impact on other programs and recommends corrective actions.

Liaises with planning and cost coordination units to ensure the monitoring of work programs in terms of duration, target dates, resources, and materials.

Liaises with Commercial Division personnel to ensure required materials are identified properly.

Plans, supervises, and coordinates all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.

Trains and develops the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective section objectives.

Budgets

Provides input for preparation of the section and department budgets and assists in the implementation of the approved budget and work plans to deliver section objectives.

Investigates and highlights any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.

Policies, systems, processes & procedures

Implements approved section and department policies, processes, systems, standards, and procedures in order to support execution of the section’s and department’s work programs in line with company and international standards.

Performance management

Contributes to the achievement of the approved performance objectives for the section and department in line with the company performance framework.

Innovation and continuous improvement

Designs and implements new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.

Identifies improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with ISO standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.

Health, safety, environment (HSE) and sustainability

Complies with relevant HSE policies, procedures, controls, applicable legislation, and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices, and ADNOC code of practices.

Reports

Provides inputs to prepare section MIS and progress reports for company management.

Communications & working relationships

Internal

Regular contact with field, operations support, production assurance, maintenance, and engineering departments to ensure effective communications.

Frequent contact with work associates in Abu Dhabi and on super complexes up to team leader level to discuss shutdown preparation and coordinate work activities.

Regular contact with shutdown committee and stakeholders on matters of shutdown issues.

External

Frequent contact with concession holders when addressing their requirements and during site visits.

Regular contacts with contractors’ agents and representatives at equivalent level to discuss work requirements and evaluate performance.

Qualifications, experience, knowledge & skills

Minimum qualification

Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline from a recognised university.

Minimum experience, knowledge & skills

5-6 years’ experience in multi-discipline planning of engineering and maintenance activities in an oil and gas or petrochemical industry.

Proficient in English.
